· T-Ball & Coach Pitch: $60/player, with additional siblings receiving a $5 discount.
· Sports Connect registration site adds a one-time fee of $3 service fee charge. This is not a charge from RCLL.
I saw something about tryouts. What is that and does my player have to tryout?
· Minors, Majors, Juniors and Seniors must attend tryouts. T-Ball and Coach pitch DO NOT TRYOUT.
· All players will be placed on a team. In order to make all teams fair and even, coaches will “draft” their players on draft day based on the performances witnessed at tryouts. If a player cannot attend tryouts, they will be given a number and drafted “blindly”.
· Tryouts dates will be March 16th, 17th, and 18th
When will games and practices be?
· RCLL serves over 350 youth, therefore, games will be played Tuesday-Saturday. When your team plays depends on the game schedule, which will be released after tryouts are held and teams are assembled. Practice times are at the discretion of the coach.
What is Field Clean Up Day and why is it mandatory?
· RCLL is ran by a board with less then 10 members; in order to get the fields, stands, concessions, bathrooms, and parking lot ready for the season, we need help from players and coaches. Many hands make light work and this usually takes only half a day. Field Clean Up Day is March 22nd this year.
How long is the season?
· The season starts April 5th and runs until the end of May.
What is Opening Day and what can I expect?
· Opening Day is April 5th and includes Opening Ceremonies where each team, coach, and player will be announced as they run onto the field. There will be the singing of the National Anthem, as well as a ceremonial first pitch.
· Team and individual pictures will also be taken.
· GAMES! Games will be played starting right after Opening Ceremonies.
Does my child need any special equipment to play?
· EVERY player, regardless of age, needs a glove to play. Bats are optional and can be shared among players. Male players in upper divisions (Minors, Majors, Juniors, Seniors) are required to wear a cup while playing catcher. All other catching equipment will be provided.
· Pants are required to be worn by all divisions during play AND practice.
